Sustainability Week in Lund: ”It inspired me”

Lund University and the municipality joined forces for Sustainability Week, presenting a series of workshops and discussions accessible to the public. Taking place from April 8th to 13th, this annual event focused of sustainable living, inviting participants to explore and engage with key sustainability issues.

LTH employees in open letter to the department: ”A wall of silence”

On 26th of February, ten LTH employees criticised the management of LTH in an open letter for its stance on the recent conflict in the Middle East. The letter claims that the department is creating a "wall of silence", preventing LTH employees to express their own stance within the academic community. LTH refutes the accusations by referring to its principle of neutrality and respect for freedom of speech.

International students can now get a two year residency permit

The Swedish Migration Agency has recently updated their contract with Lund University, making it possible for students to have a two year residency permit rather than just one year.

Club night collaboration between Smålands and Parentesen

On Saturday the 18th of November, Lund history is going to be made. On that night it will be the very first time in the history of student engagement in the city where a nation and a student accommodation will hold a collaborative event. Lundagård has met the organizers from Smålands nation and Parentesen housing area to talk about the brainchild which is soon to be born.

New Aliens Act upsets PhD-students

On 20th July 2021, new rules of the Swedish Aliens Act took effect. The changes to the rules entail new requirements for non-EU/EEA citizens being granted a permanent residence permit. Lundagård interviewed two doctoral students, a student union representative and a politician to hear views on the permanent residence permit issue.

Wartime tattoo studio – ”I think that they give power”

If you search for #bunkertattoos🇺🇦 on Instagram four pictures from Mary Tereshchenko pop up. A ramen bowl, a lotus flower and two texts telling the Russian military to “go fuck yourself” have become permanent memories of the war. Lundagård spoke to the Kyiv-based tattoo artist over the phone.
