A short note describing WHY the ’akademisk kvart’ exists (according to my flatmate John, who studies history). Apparently, in ’the old days,’ students would start heading to class when they heard the church bells tolling on the hour. Thus, they would usually arrive about fifteen minutes later, hence the reason why the quarter hour only applies to classes that start on the hour.
