One of my duties of being an intern for the U.N. in the Maldives is tagging along with their employees when they go on field trips for one of their many development projects. During these trips I gather human and transformative stories from the field through interviews and photos.
After the trip to Kaashidhoo was postponed and put on standby for almost a week due to turbulent waves and the monsoon season, the weather calmed down on Sunday, allowing us to finally go ahead with our plans. So we took a speedboat to the island of Kaashidhoo to monitor their tortoise species, which are now endangered due to the recent expansion of farming on the island.
