In December, Lund will be filled with electronic art. At that time the exhibition Electrohype is inaugurated at Lund’s art gallery.
Meanwhile a festival with Nordic grandeurs in electro music kicks off at the student nation Smålands.
Earlier years, the association Electrohype has exhibited electronic art in Malmö. This year the exhibition is held in Lund, as a part of the municipality’s investment in becoming Europe’s city of culture in 2014. In the exhibit, which goes on from December 9 to January 7, eight artists from different countries participate. Their works are very different among them, but they have in common that they all show how the technology has changed our way of looking at art and esthetics.
Two-day-festival
In connection to the opening, Electrohype, the student nation Smålands and the organization Komponent arranges a two-day-festival with electronic music and light installations. Martin Bodensten, the dance superintendent at Smålands, is looking forward to the event.
– The festival is a small kickoff to the exhibit. We can afford taking chances because of this collaboration. We can get mega performers that normally would not be seen in the student environment, he says.
The first day the Electro festival consist of music focused on art with bands like The Renegades of the Game Boxen, from Denmark, and Biosphere, from Norway.
– There will be artists that do not keep within the frames and therefore are not known to everyone yet, for example Biosphere. They are one of
the hottest bands in Berlin at the moment, says Martin Bodensten.
Open to the public
During the Saturday there will be two dance floors for dancing and clubbing. Among others Hans Appelqvist, who is coming out with an album soon, will be performing.
During the festival Smålands are open to the public and therefore also welcomes people who are not students.
